We’re going to discuss more about these two in our imminent Theories of Communication article. Shannon and Weaver were the first to present the Linear Model of Communication in 1949′s The Mathematical Theory of Communication. According to this model, there is no means for immediate feedback. It is straight-line communication found typically in mass communication think television, radio, newspapers, etc. The linear model’s behavior is belied by its name, where a sender encodes a message via a channel and the message is decoded by the receiver. There’s a bit of a debate about the Linear Communication model and how it recognizes (or doesn’t recognize) the concept of feedback. Traditionally speaking, there are three standard models of the communication process: Linear, Interactive, and Transactional, and each offers a slightly different perspective on the communication process. The purpose of a “model” is to offer a visual representation of a concept with the intent of facilitating the understanding of it.

You might want to have our glossary handy, or you might want to head to The Communication Process article for a quick review. It is capable of supplying 7 Amps at 70☌ ambient temperature and has a forcing capability of 11 Amps for 10 seconds.Today we’re going to be discussing the Three (3) Models of Communication, but before we hop into it, you should be sure that you are up to speed with your communication terminology. In fact, the DECS-150 can be fed indifferently by the PMG3, MAUX or even shunt-excited.Įxcitation power is supplied from the DECS-150 by means of a filtered, switching power module that uses pulse-width modulation. The DECS-150 is suitable for the Mecc Alte brushless alternators start from ECO38 to ECO46, included the medium and high voltage series ECO46 and ECO49. The high flexibility and powerful functionalities makes this device particularly useful in those projects where machines are paralleled to other generators and/or the utility system, since the requirements from the grid codes are very demanding. DECS-150 adaptability to many applications is assured through configurable contact inputs and outputs, flexible communication capabilities, and programmable logic implemented with the provided software. USB communications through the embedded USB portĭECS-150 Digital Excitation Control Systems offer precise excitation control and machine protection in a compact package.
